(CARD) AJPW Giant Baba 23rd Memorial Service (February 4th, 2021)
Introduction
All Japan Pro-Wrestling will be co-producing Giant Baba's 23rd Memorial Show on the 4th of February (Thursday). The event will take place in Tokyo's Korakuen Hall at 8pm Jpn time. It will be available to watch on "Samurai TV", like the previous year's show.
At the time of writing four matches have been announced, which will feature legends from all across the puroresu scene, as well as showcases of modern-day talent from opposing promotions all united to pay tribute to one of the most influential men in the history of Japanese professional wrestling, "Giant" Shohei Baba.
Match One
Suwama, Keiji Mutoh & Satoshi Kojima vs. Masayuki Kono, Kaz Hayashi & X
Suwama will be tagging with two legends who will be making their return to All Japan for the one-night special, Mutoh & Kojima. The Shining Wizard has not stepped in an All Japan ring for more than 8 years, as for Kojima this will be his return after 11 years out of AJPW. As for the opposing team, both Kono & Hayashi have made their mark in All Japan in their own time, and as for the mystery opponent, we'll just have to wait that one out. This match was specifically made for nostalgic purposes, you can say that about this whole show. Even though all wrestlers involved being past their prime, as I've said before this will be quite entertaining with the nostalgic factor alone.
Match Two
Yuma Aoyagi & Yuji Nagata vs. Minoru Suzuki & Hikaru Sato
Aoyagi & Nagata would quite surely be an interesting pairing, and then Minoru Suzuki & Hikaru Sato seem to fit. This match will most likely play out as a more mat work & strike based showcase, given the workers involved.
Match Three
Atsuki Aoyagi vs. BUSHI
Like his older brother Aoyagi possesses great talent in his own field (that being the AJPW Junior division), and developing this talent at quite a young age (22 Years), to go up against and showcase his skills against an equally talented Bushi would be quite interesting.
Match Four ( Special Match 8 Man Tag Team Match )
Masanobu Fuchi, Atsushi Onita, Great Kojika & Shiro Koshinaka vs. Takao Omori, Mitsuo Momota, Masao Inoue & Tsuyoshi Kikuchi
Just as the first match this match is purely based on the nostalgic factor, and given the wrestlers involved this would be quite interesting, to say the least. given the absolute legends involved. Fuchi & Onita unite once again as former All Japan tag partners in the early 80s. Koshinaka is returning to All Japan since 1985 when he would leave mid excursion for New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Kikuchi, Momota, Inoue & Omori will be fun to watch.
